For The crypt of the fading composer Goodiepal & Pals enter Le Corbusier’s Esprit Nouveau Pavilion, creating a living museum. A magical crypt that temporarily houses the collection of visual & sound art by Goodiepal, installed at SMK, the National Gallery of Denmark in Copenhagen, which moves to Bologna for three days. GP & PLS will give life to his collection as a new revelation, disclosing the most esoteric sound art inbetween live concerts and other daily actions. Self-taught and eccentric, Goodiepal is an alternative intelligence and one of the figures who have most influenced the course of recent underground computer music. Artist and theorist, hacker, Renaissance man, futurist, philanthropist and drop-out, activist and art collector, he explores the boundaries of social rules. Self-proclaimed Man for the new millennium, this master-trickster is now fading again in something else. In 2016 he founded the Goodiepal & Pals, which is a refugee organisation disguised as a Contemporary-Tek-Rock-Band, who will accompany him to Bologna in this new residence after a prolonged camp in the check-points on the borders of Serbia.

SPILL ALL THE WATER
Goodiepal, a man from the Faroe Islands, is a composer, performer and visual artist, theorist and activist operating on the fringes of society. He creates his art outside of customary institutions and norms, and he himself forms an essential part of his theories. What is the Goodiepal equation? Goodiepal rides thousands of kilometres on a self-built bicycle that he uses to power his shows, and he has released a record with a genuine 500-krone banknote embedded in the vinyl – priced at 250 kroner.. Known worldwide in the 2000s for his radical excursions into digital technology and the media, he was a professor of Electro-acoustic Music at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, from where he declared intellectual war against the stupidity found in modern electronic music and in accademic media art. Artistically active from the age of 19 years, prolific and restless, he has recorded for labels such as Spoof Records V / Vm Records, SKI-PP, Fonal, Mego. Goodiepal believes that music should not be made ‘with’ computers but ‘for’ computers, and has done so in a series of memorable records such as the influential Brand Archive (for which he was prosecuted by Nokia and Carlsberg) or Mort Aux Vaches Ekstra Extra. After a carreer as a ‘soloist’, in 2016 he founded the band Goodiepal & Pals. In the last years his activism turned increasingly radical and he drifted further away from social safety nets. Goodiepal challenges us to reflect on our view of the world. What remains of us if we only exist to serve the system?
